The property dates back to circa 1880 and used to be a prominent working farm with 99 acres of land. In 2006-2007 the house was totally renovated and is in superb decorative order. Great care went into preserving the old character of the house, complimenting this with modern technologies and a contemporary palette of colours, which has created a light filled interior that is a pleasure to live in.

The property, set on a c. 2.7 acre site with many mature trees, sits back from the road with two old stone pillars giving way to a 100 meter tar and chip drive. Most of the land is situated to the front and north side of the property, ideal for keeping a pony or other animals.

On the south side of the house, a large walled garden has been created featuring a symmetrical layout with flower beds and borders, a polytunnel, glasshouse and two areas with lawn. At the back of the house is a private courtyard surrounded by traditional stone stables and outbuildings which can be further renovated for alternative uses.

During the renovations the house was re-roofed, drylined, insulated, re-wired (inc. alarm), new oil-fired heating system combined with a 20kw Stratford Ecoboiler wood burning stove, all windows are double glazed, there is solid French oak flooring to all living areas in the main house, laminate flooring in the converted stables and tiled flooring to kitchen, utility room, wc and bathrooms.

The downstairs comprises an entrance porch and hallway, living room with gas fire, dining room with wood burning stove (heats the whole house and hot water supply), leading onto a spacious country style kitchen with French doors opening out into the courtyard.

There's also a back entrance with cloakroom and wc. The utility room and converted stables can be accessed from the front hallway. The stables now comprise a large reception room with views of the garden and courtyard as well as a double bedroom with en-suite bathroom. Both rooms open out into the courtyard.

Upstairs there are four bedrooms, one en-suite with large walk-in shower, plus a family bathroom featuring a roll-top bath and separate shower. One of the bedrooms provides access to storage space in the attic.

The house has its own 36m deep spring well with water-filtering system. The septic tank and percolation area are located to the north side of the house.

Fastcom provides a decent broadband service suitable for a home office and there are plans for fiber optic to come to the area with speeds of up to 100MB. A Sky satellite dish has been installed as well.
